Âܲ·AVÊÓƵSends Letter Expressing Concern with Privacy Bills

March 05, 2026

Today, Âܲ·AVÊÓƵjoined forces with the Public Interest Privacy Center to send a letter to the House Energy and Commerce Committee ahead of its mark up today, expressing concern with bills updating Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) and Children and Teens Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Read the letter here.

Âܲ·AVÊÓƵis proud to cochair the Federal Education Privacy Coalition. In joining with PIPC, today's letter emphasizes our prioritization of the privacy and safety of student data, and we strongly support updates and revisions to child privacy protections. We commend the committee for its continuing work and effort on the important work of increasing online privacy and data security protections for our nation’s children and teens. However, we are deeply concerned that the package would limit schools’ ability to effectively establish privacy-protective safeguards for education technology.
