Chief Advocacy & Governance Officer, AASA, Âܲ·AVÊÓÆµ

Noelle Ellerson Ng joined AASA, Âܲ·AVÊÓÆµ, in 2007 as a policy analyst. She now serves as Chief Advocacy & Governance Officer, leading the organization’s federal advocacy, governance, and policy efforts.

In this role, she directs AASA’s work with Congress and the U.S. Department of Education, oversees the association’s research, surveys, and policy analysis, and manages governance operations, including support for the executive committee, governing board, and 49 state affiliates. She also leads the Âܲ·AVÊÓÆµStudent and Child Privacy Center.

Ellerson Ng frequently speaks with school system leaders nationwide on federal education policy and its impact on district leadership and operations. She and her team support the advocacy efforts of a handful of sister national K12 groups, including ASBO, NAPT, and AESA, among others.

Before joining AASA, she was a high school special education teacher in Central New York and worked in state-level advocacy with the College Board while earning her graduate degree.

A native of New York, Ellerson Ng holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and certifications in elementary and special education from Nazareth College of Rochester, and a master’s degree in public policy and education administration from the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy at the University at Albany (SUNY). She has completed executive and fellowship programs at the Institute for Educational Leadership, PDK, Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy, and Harvard Kennedy School.
