AASA, proud co-chair of the EdLiNC coalition, representing the entirety of the beneficiary community for the E-Rate program, was proud to join a letter with the School Health Library Broadband (SHLB) Coalition, Homework Gap Coalition, and the American Library Association (ALA) calling on the FCC to preserve critical E-Rate initiatives that keep students and families connected.

These programs鈥攖he School Bus Wi-Fi Program and Hotspot Lending Program鈥攅nsure that learning continues beyond the school day by providing broadband access on buses and through school- and library-based hotspot loans. The FCC is now considering actions that would roll back both programs without advance notice to schools and libraries. E-Rate advocates warn that such reversals would disrupt budgets, limit connectivity options for students, and undermine confidence in the transparency and stability of the program.
