Right Person, Right Time

My View
There is a phrase I have used when faced with a situation that I desperately want to change but can’t — moments when I wish I could right some wrong. We have the best intentions but lack the path to that desired ending.
This can gnaw at the edges of our mind. We tell ourselves, “I could have done X or I should have done Y instead.” The phrase that I use is, “Focus on what you can control.”
I have been told by staff members that my words helped them through a hard time. For some, it was because I could empathize with and validate their experiences, for others, it was simply because I took the time to listen.
