District administrators often must function as educational technology leaders in an environment where technology is seen as accelerating student learning. We are expected to be knowledgeable of the latest technology trends and applications.

This expectation can lead to district administrators becoming distracted in a high-tech world as they are often tasked with the expectations to remain up to date on current best practices including educational technology. The distractions come along with the pressures of remaining in the know about the newest technology.

Subsequently, the emergence of electronic ink, or e-ink, tablets has ushered in the potential of a new paradigm from frenzy to focus. Electronic ink tablets offer opportunities for district administrators to sharpen their focus, limit technological distractions, such as e-mail, and do their best work.
