STATE OF THE SUPERINTENDENCY
AASA’s
“Study of the American School Superintendency 2000” declared that “the superintendency is an aging profession.” Two decades later, the picture is changing. Younger educators are serving as superintendents.
According to an ܲAVƵmembership survey conducted last fall, slightly more than 12 percent of sitting superintendents were age 60 or older. Ten years prior, that age category approached 20 percent.
