This toolkit is designed to help school leaders communicate clearly, confidently, and consistently about the value of education technology in K–12 schools. It provides guidance and resources to help districts:
- Clarify what education technology is and is not, including the important distinction between instructional use and recreational screen time
- Explain how technology supports teaching and learning
- Reinforce how students are protected through federal, state, and local policies and practices
- Build trust through proactive communication with families and community stakeholders
- Ground decisions in local leadership, emphasizing that schools are best positioned to implement technology in ways that reflect community needs and expectations
