Pete Just
Pete Just, CETL, CCRE Serves as CoSN's AI SME and AI Project director and also as Executive Director of the Indiana CTO Council. He retired in 2022 as CTO & COO MSD of Wayne after 24 years leading their IT and Facilities efforts. Starting out as a teacher, he began using technology to expand learning and has been deep in digital innovation ever since. He was involved in the launch of Indiana's first online school in 1999 and additional online and blended programs including launching the Achieve Virtual Education Academy in 2010. His integration efforts also focused on classrooms and developing technical innovations to provide students greater success in their multiple pathways to graduation. He served as CoSN conference Chair for two years and has served on numerous committees. He received his MS in Instructional Systems Technology from Indiana University and has served as adjunct faculty at IU's Graduate School of Education. Pete was elected to the CoSN National Board in 2014 and served as National CoSN Board chair and completed his board service in 2023. He leads the Indiana DOE K12 Cyber Security Task Force and the CTO2B mentoring program. Pete has provided dozens of presentations nationally for AASA, COSN on Generative AI. He has done work with the TeachAI initiative on AI policy & practice and 1EdTech on the AI Data Rubric Project . He desires to help technology leaders be empowered with the knowledge and resources to lead proactively in their own school systems. Believing technology can enhance learning and opportunity
