Mary Varr
Mary Varr is an accomplished nonprofit executive and early childhood education leader with over 30 years of experience in program development, civic leadership, and strategic planning. As Executive Director of the Woonsocket Head Start Child Development Association since 2011, she oversees comprehensive early childhood and family services while securing and managing multi-source funding.
Mary brings a strong background in staff development, fiscal management, and community collaboration, shaped by previous leadership roles at local YMCAs and the YMCA of the USA. She is also an experienced trainer, grant writer, and civic advocate, having served in elected positions on the Lincoln School Committee and Budget Board.
A summa cum laude graduate of Springfield College with a degree in Human Services, Mary is certified in early childhood administration and adult learning facilitation. She has served on numerous state and national early learning committees and remains deeply committed to advancing equity and excellence in early care and education.
