Laurie Putnam is the Superintendent of St. Cloud Area Schools and was named the 2025 Minnesota Superintendent of the Year. She centers students in decision making and believes strong community partnerships are essential to the success of public education. Laurie holds a doctorate in education from St. Cloud State University, a master鈥檚 degree in counseling from the University of Maine, and a bachelor鈥檚 degree in history from Dartmouth College.

In her leadership, Laurie works to build a school environment where students, families, and staff feel welcome, supported, and valued. She believes in the power of working together and encourages open communication and shared responsibility. St. Cloud Area Schools aim to help every student succeed both academically and personally, and to create a school culture that reflects the strength and diversity of the broader community.
